This mini-course is suitable for beginners and for students who want to take their painting skills to the next level.

Course program
First Lesson: Painting an object
In this lesson we will paint scarlet cherries and learn how to create shade and reflection of an object as well as how to create interesting textured background.
As an artist we learn to customize our artwork and use different colours to create a unique artwork.

In the lesson, we will try to create a portrait of your favourite pet. In case you don't have a pet - you can follow instructions and create a unique Picasso style portrait. Learn to use unexpected creative painting styles to reflect the character of your pet.

Second lesson: Picasso your pet
IN this lesson we will learn how to blend the colours and create soft transitions, we will also create trees and grass and different animals you can find on Safari. Some precision needed here - to create shapes of animals enjoying the sunset.
Fourth lesson: African Landscape
Third lesson: Copy the Masters
In this lesson we will repeat the Starry Night artwork of famous Van Gogh and learn a bit about his life and work. We will add creative twist to it - a boat and a few animals in it. As usual you can customize your artwork as you choose.
Fifth lesson: Hybrid Animals
In this lesson you will not create just one but two or three artworks of animals and mix and match it to create a fun hybrid creature.
This lesson is not only a painting workshop but a crafting class and combines all the techniques learned in previous lessons.

What is included in the course:
Five 2h art sessions
All materials: canvas 30x40cm, acrylic paint, use of brushes etc
A printout of reference pictures to follow the instructions
A drink (water or juice) for every session

The course teacher
Alvira Ferreira is a visual artist from Cape Town, South Africa who has relocated to Luxembourg. She works mostly in oil paint and collage. The concepts she explores are of human interactions and intervention in specific times and space. Her work speaks about how we live, how we could live and the unforeseen things in life. The pieces she makes ask how the ordinary and the extraordinary interact and show how there are no unimportant things in life. She loves working on collaborative art projects and enjoys spreading the creative spirit through teaching art classes.
Cancellation Policy
Please note in case of missed class the fee cannot be reimbursed. In case you need to cancel your participation in the course please note that we accept 10 days’ notice in order to reimburse 100% of the amount and we can reimburse only 50% after this date and 0% from the start of the course. Missed workshops cannot be recovered.
